Recycled bikes given to Yorwaste Campaign

Yorwaste's 'Get ReCycling' campaign benefits from 1000+ recycled bikes

When we got wind of Yorwaste’s ‘Get ReCycling’ campaign that was running in August this year. It was a great opportunity to get involved with recycled bikes and help those who need it the most.

We were able to collect some recycled bikes that were donated to the Household Recycling Centres across our wonderful region and bring them for a tuning up.

After we collected them, we they went through a rigorous servicing process to get them ready to be given back into the community. We are so proud to say that, already, we have seen 100’s of the bikes getting put to good use.

We were overwhelmed and have been really busy getting everything ready and we are very proud to say that we contributed to the massive 1000+ recycled bikes that were donated, refurbished and given out as part of the very honourable campaign.

Yorwaste partnership event

We took part in one of their workshops in York a little earlier in the year. It was known as ‘Tour de Yorwaste,’ which saw Luke, man the bike stands and was educating members of the public on how to service your bicycle and make sure it is running safely.

Something like this is right up our street, helping the recycling centres around Yorkshire reduce their ‘waste’ is at the forefront of our agenda. Getting the used bikes back up to our incredibly high standards, was of the utmost importance so members of our community can put them to good use again!

Already some of the bikes that have been used in Clifton Green’s ‘Cycle to School’ week were aided by the donation and kids at the primary school were able to take part.

It is great seeing the next generation take pleasure in upcycling and making use of the bikes that people didn’t want anymore.

Not only do we collect bikes from the Household Recycle Centres managed and run by Yorwaste, we collect an array of different items. From furniture, kids toys, books, games, garden & outdoor equipment, mirrors, bric-a-brac and so much more. We have recently built a sales section on our website for you to have a look through some of the items we have on sale in our stores, both online and offline.

We have a sales section waiting for you!

Facebook, Etsy, or in-store, we have something to suit you, when you want it suiting.
