Our Intermediate Bike Maintenance Course is designed for the cycling enthusiast who is looking to develop their mechanical ability. It will benefit those who wish to confidently carry out servicing and repairs on their own bike. This course is delivered by professionally qualified instructors, who will be demonstrating how to complete a comprehensive range of cycle maintenance tasks and guide trainees through practical activities. Different styles of bicycle will be available to work on during the session. This allows a more in depth look at how bikes run and working on variations of some components. Additionally, work can be completed on the trainee’s own bicycles. Parts are available to buy during the session should any need replacing.

On this Intermediate Maintenance Course, you will learn:
Personal safety, tool and chemical handling.
Cleaning – degreasing and general lubrication.
Safety check (M-Check).
Brakes – cable & pad replacement, calliper adjustment.
Gears – cable replacement, lubrication, mech removal, replacement and positioning, indexing.
Transmission – chain set, pedal, bracket removal and replacement.Headset – strip ,lube and refit.
Wheels – trailside wheel truing; disc removal and replacement.
Tyres & tubes – puncture prevention & repair.
Wear and tear – managing your bike and extending component life.
