The Recycle Project CIC is a York-based community enterprise reducing waste across York and North Yorkshire through furniture reuse, responsible clearances, and partnerships with local councils. Through our reuse shop and affordable household goods scheme, we keep quality items in circulation, divert tonnes from landfill, and support local residents, charities, and community groups — delivering real environmental and social impact for our city.

Volunteering
Join The Recycle Project CIC and be part of something that makes a real difference in York and North Yorkshire.
Our volunteers help with sorting donations, preparing furniture for resale, supporting in our reuse shop, assisting with collections, and helping keep valuable items out of landfill. Whether you’re looking to build skills, gain work experience, meet new people, or give back to your community, we offer a supportive and friendly environment where your time truly matters.
No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

At The Recycle Project CIC, we make it easy for York residents to access affordable, quality second-hand furniture and household goods while supporting a local social enterprise. Every item we sell has been saved from disposal through our property clearance and reuse work — helping reduce waste and keep reusable goods in circulation across York and North Yorkshire.
