Carecent gets visit from The Recycle project
Carecent brings support to the homeless in York by providing breakfasts and clothes to help the homeless and people who require additional support in and around the York area. They’re located on St. Saviour gate and run a drop-in morning session from 8.45am-10.45am Monday-Saturday.
Not only clothes and food is provided but more importantly, a safe space to feel welcomed and not excluded from our wonderful community.
Today, one of our volunteers paid them a visit. We had some extra clothes that were donated at our clothes swap event and we wanted to find some way to give back something to our community.
All of the extra base-layers, wooly jumpers, leggings, chunky socks, gloves, hats and all the other items we think the homeless people of York may benefit from. This is where Carecent come in, they distribute clothing
Would you like to help out too?
Carecent are always looking for support in some capacity. Whether that be donations of food or clothing or whether its dedicating a little time for them in person at their cafe during the breakfast sessions. We encourage this, and playing our part is key, as homelessness is something that is close to our hearts and if we can help keep someone warm as the colder nights draw in, then that’s what we aim to achieve.
They have a website that you can register any interest that you may have to help them out. All you have to do is follow this link or simple search ‘Carecent’ on your preferred search engine and we are sure you will find them.
As always, thank you for the support and love that you all show us across the social media channels and on here, taking the time to read our content. We appreciate and engagement on there and hopefully your friends can benefit from our project too so make sure you share what you find interesting from us.
